ABOUT LEGATHON
Maqsut Narikbayev University invites law students from around the world to take part in the International Legathon “MaxUP” 2026 – a global arena where bright minds meet to solve real legal challenges of the digital era.
First launched in 2025, Legathon has become a platform for young innovators to connect law and technology, turning visionary ideas into practical solutions. In 2026, the competition expands internationally with two leagues – Russian-Language League and English-Language League, welcoming teams from universities worldwide.

Preparation of research projects by teams aimed at solving specific legal issues
Selected participants will receive fully funded travel, accommodation, and meals to join the main event in Astana, Kazakhstan – the heart of Central Asia. Throughout the competition, teams will work on critical topics such as AI regulation, digital identity, data protection, and emerging legal technologies, guided by leading experts and mentors.
